Dosing. Lavender is used in many different types of products. A specific lavender oil product (Silexan) has most often been used by adults in doses of 80-160 mg by mouth daily for up to 10 weeks. Conversely, non-edible oil derived from Jatropha, sea mango, rubber seed, and candlenut are not suitable for human consumption because it contains toxic substances in the oil. For instance, the Jatropha seed oil contains purgative and curcas. The rubber seed oil contains cyanogenic glucoside.
